Juan Rodriguez is a dedicated public servant running for Campbell City Council, District 1. Juan is proud to be a Campbell resident, the city he has called home the longest since immigrating to the U.S. as a young child. He was the first in his family to graduate from college, earning a Bachelor of Science in Economics with a minor in Government from San Jose State University.
In his current role as a Legislative Field Representative for Assemblymember Ash Kalra, Juan connects residents with essential government resources, advocates for policy changes, and organizes community events to bring people together and amplify their voices. His experience has equipped him with a deep understanding of both policy analysis and the everyday needs of his community—a vital combination for effective leadership. Previously, he assisted vulnerable individuals and families while working with Alameda County Social Services, a role that reinforced his dedication to public service.
Beyond his professional work, Juan is deeply passionate about mentorship. He mentors high school students from underserved communities in San Jose, as well as college students interested in political science and government.
Juan has earned the endorsement of key environmental groups, including the Sierra Club, the League of Conservation Voters, and 350 Silicon Valley. His candidacy is also supported by Mayor Susan Landry, Senator Dave Cortese, Assemblymember Marc Berman, and other respected local and state leaders who believe in his vision for Campbell.
Juan lives in Campbell with his partner and their six-month-old niece, whom they are raising together. Raising a family in this community has only strengthened his commitment to a brighter future for all children and families in Campbell. In his free time, he enjoys visiting local parks, watching movies, dancing (though he admits he's not great at it), exploring topics like science and economics, and taking strolls with their dog and baby.
Juan is eager to work together with residents to make Campbell an even better place to live. He welcomes your ideas and thoughts on how to improve the city, and hopes to be your advocate on the Campbell City Council.
